On my daily walk to work I pass this bus stop ouside Central Station in Sydney. This scene (below) baffles me every day. Obviously the commuters here are sheltering from the wind and rain and maybe lining up for the bus in an orderly way but what function is the bus shelter providing other than a windbreak? I wonder why no-one is seated. Maybe the rain was coming in from the other side. But it is not actually raining at the time i took these photos. I also question the efficiency of this bus shelter to seat an appropriate number of people. It is very long but has minimal seating and obviously very little appeal (at least on this day). I hope someone else might be able to shed some light on this oddity.
